For 16 years we lived on the crest of a hill with a beautiful view looking wast acrosss the entire Santa Clarita Valley. In the evening or on days when the clouds were putting on a show, would often grab my camera to photograph the spectacular vistas looking westward. Over thye years I captured hundreds of images that became the foundational elements of these Garden Skies.

January Sky

In 2014, I was out mowing the lawn on a beautiful January morning. It had just rained the night before, and the warming sun was filling the air with rising moisture. I looked up from my labors, and this is what I beheld. I rushed back to the studio and did my best to capture the memory before it faded.

This was done entirely with Photoshop brushes, with no original photos or AI generation involved. A lot has changed over the last decade, including both the tools and the techniques.
