About Jeff

For the past 45 years, I have worked as a Communications Designer in Southern California.

I owned and operated a successful design firm for 35 years, then served as Director of Creative Services for a national chain of K-12 charter schools for 8 years. In addition to my professional career, I have been an adjunct professor at CSUN for 2 decades, teaching a wide range of lower- and upper-division design courses.

At home, as a creative individual who enjoys working with my hands, I have been a passionate backyard gardener for as long as I can remember. I always keep a camera nearby to capture moments in the garden that spark my creativity.

When I started this garden, I knew it would be a labor of love and personal satisfaction, and that I wouldn’t stress if months went by and I wasn’t able to give it any attention. Life has many gardens we attend to, does it not, my friends? The lesson for me is that what we do is not nearly as important as where we are when we are doing it.
